The reason door locks freeze is because warm, moist air from inside your home is meeting the cold, outside air inside the lock. As the warm air cools, the moisture freezes, rendering your door lock inoperable.
The solution for this is to place the home into a very slight negative pressure, which is done with your ventilation system. In most cases, this issue is solved by balancing your HRV system properly.
